Inorganic inter-metal dielectric films have excellent chemical and thermal stabilities, and thus have a high reliability. However, because inorganic inter-metal dielectric films are manufactured by vacuum deposition, there are disadvantages in that they are costly and a large-scale fabrication facility is required. On the other hand, organic inter-metal dielectric films can be easily manufactured and have a low manufacturing cost. In addition, an organic film can be easily coated and patterned by a wet process of spin coating, spray coating, or screen printing, and thus is suitable for a fine pattern formation. In order to apply the organic inter-metal dielectric film to highly integrated semiconductor devices, it is necessary to improve the characteristics of the organic inter-metal dielectric film.
